I Stuck My Electric Kettle In The Dishwasher Here Is What Happened

It did a terrible job of cleaning it but at least the worst of the scaliness is gone!

I found an old and scaley electric kettle and decided that it was too much of a hassle to clean it by hand so I put it inside the dishwasher on the eco-clean setting.

This is how most people clean their electric kettle

But not me….

It only took 20 minutes and came out, somewhat cleaner than what it was before.

Except for the part where you are thinking — what about those electrodes in the bottom of the kettle?

My best friend — the box of rice comes in. inside the bottom of the box I place some rice about 2 inches or so.

Then I put the electric kettle into the box and fill it up with rice about half-way.

I then let this silly yet effective ‘life hack’ do its work and pull it out of the rice in a few days.

Once it’s dry I can now scrub it with a damp cloth and dish detergent until the rest of the grime is gone.
